On our own

Yesterday was our first anniversary!!! I can't believe we have been married for a year! Which means that me and Nick have lived out of the state of Utah for a year! If you would have asked me two years ago if I would ever want to live in a different State I would have said heck no... are you crazy.. Me leaving Utah.. You must be joking! I picked a school in Utah for that reason! I never wanted to leave Utah! My family and friends are there! I never thought in my wildest dreams I would be living somewhere else!!! Especially sin city!
The first month living in Vegas last year one night I broke down crying to Nick! I was complaining on how I hated living in Vegas.. How we have no friends! How I have no one to talk to!! My high school volleyball team is the only interaction I have with people!!! Nick felt really bad because he was at school for most of the day and how when he got home he was tired and had homework to do.
So I made a decision that no matter how shy I was or worried about what people think about me.. That I was going to put myself out there and to talk to people! Which I did! I got some people in my ward numbers that weekend we had dinner at Chile's and we met our first friends in Vegas! And since then we have met many more friends!
Now that we have been here for a year, I really like it here! I love the area that we live in! I love our ward! I love the friends we have met! And I love having two jobs and staying busy!
I really miss Utah, but being away from family and friends it has been good for me and Nick to have to put our selves out there to met people! And just being on our own has really helped us to grow together! Thanks everyone for making Vegas home away from home!
